What we collect
When you create an account, we ask for your email address and a password. Your password is never saved as plain text. It is hashed before it goes into our database, so nobody can read it, not even us. You also choose a username. A full name and a short bio are optional.
If you are signed in, we save your lesson progress and quiz scores so you can pick up where you left off.
When you sign in, we note your IP address and the browser and device you used. This is what shows in your account as the devices you are logged in on.
If you email us, we get your email address and your message. We use it only to reply to you.
Like most websites, our server also keeps basic logs of visits. These are used only to fix problems and block abuse.
Cookies
We use a login cookie to keep you signed in, and a temporary session cookie to keep forms and quizzes working. Your theme and quiz settings are saved in your browser's local storage and are never sent to us. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics.
Other services
Our fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google can see your IP address when the fonts are downloaded. Your verification emails are sent through our email provider.
Your data, your choice
We never sell your data. You can edit your profile and password from your account. If you want a correction or your account deleted, email us at contact@rarebytehub.com and we will take care of it.
Children
Rare Byte Hub is not meant for children under 13. If you think a child has made an account, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
